I’m Denis Ivanov

I live in the weird and wonderful Bay Area, guiding technology teams, riding motorcycles, building drift cars, capturing moments through a lens, organizing underground music events, and parenting my cat sons.

My love affair with web development started in high school when a mentor introduced me to an experimental new framework called Rails—written in an eccentric unhheard-of Japanese programming language. Small projects turned into big ideas, and by the time I was in the Undergraduate Engineering Program at the University of Connecticut , I'd shifted from wanting to design buildings to actively building software.

Before I graduated, I was spearheading web development as Technical Hire #1 at FCP Euro, a small automotive aftermarket business. Over the next 15 years, I led the transformation from a small time Ebay seller into a quarter-billion dollar industry leader in online automotive Ecommerce.

While the automotive Ecommerce chapter has closed, I'm exploring what's next. I have my eyes on a few compelling industries, and I'm always up for a conversation. Take a look around—let's connect if you think we should talk.
